The Story

CAPSULE is a women’s contemporary boutique located just outside Cincinnati in Mariemont, Ohio. The shop originally opened in Chicago in 2017 and made the move to Cincinnati in May of 2020. We carefully curate collections that fit our “edited wardrobe, effortless style” mindset, with quality and fit front of mind. Our customer base is quite broad, sometimes crossing 3 generations – from young woman to modern mom and stylish grandma. Our passion is creating relationships with our customers that allows us to guide you to fashion-forward pieces that work best for your life. You will always walk into our store welcomed with a smile, a warm greeting and beautiful things!

The Idea

A capsule wardrobe is an edited collection of clothes made out of versatile and complimentary pieces that can be mixed and matched to create many different looks.  Each woman’s “capsule” is different based on her lifestyle, needs and aesthetic.  Our goal at CAPSULE is to get to know each of our customers in order to better guide her to the pieces that will work best for her individual needs and inspire her to try something new!

 

About Maura

Maura opened up CAPSULE in late 2017, but it was dreamed up long before. Spending almost a decade at Nordstrom gave her the knowledge and understanding of what women were looking for in a shopping experience. As a Nordstrom Personal Stylist she saw many different types of customers – all colors, ages, sizes, professions and styles. What was universal to most women was the fact that many women “had a closet full of clothing with nothing to wear.” That’s where the philosophy of a Capsule Wardrobe started to influence how she dressed herself and her clients. After starting a family and becoming a full-time mom she picked up a couple shifts at a local boutique. Having her own boutique was always a dream of Maura’s, but the experience at the local store quickly turned that dream into a goal. In 2017 with the support of her husband and family, Maura opened CAPSULE in Beverly, a neighborhood on the southside of Chicago, where she was born, raised and residing at the time. In early 2020, after 2.5 successful years of CAPSULE being open in Chicago, Maura and her family made the move to Cincinnati for her husband, Brandon’s career. In May of 2020 CAPSULE opened their doors (yes – during the beginning of the pandemic) in Mariemont at the Strand and has been loving every second of it. 

Maura resides in Terrace Park, Oh with her husband, 2 kiddos and pup Huck.
